Hello! My name is Travis Graham and I am the music teacher here at New Manchester Elementary School. I have held this position since July 2020 and have enjoyed helping our students grow as people and as musicians! Prior to my position at NMES, I worked as a substitute and certified supply teacher in the Paulding County School District for three years. While in Paulding, I supply taught at Shelton Elementary School (K-5) as a music teacher, and accumulated over three months of instrumental teaching experience by working with the band programs at Dobbins Middle School, Herschel Jones Middle School, Sammy McClure Middle School, P.B Ritch Middle School, South Paulding Middle School, and South Paulding High School.

About the Class

Throughout the school year students will receive direct instruction on the different elements that make up music (Beat/Rhythm, Meter, Tempo, Dynamics, Pitch, Duration/Notes and Rests, Melody, Form, etc.) and apply that knowledge to music performance. (Singing/Vocal exercises as well as using pitched and non-pitched percussion instruments: Rhythm Sticks, Buffalo Drums, Hand Drums, Tubanos, Boomwhackers, Bells, and Xylophones). In addition, students will use technology to complete music composition activities such as the ones found in Google’s Chrome Music Lab. (https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/)
