PURPOSE:The purpose of Road Runners is to provide children an opportunity to enhance their running abilities, and it is open to all children in grades K-5.  This program gives children a chance to meet other students in the school and the community.  Road Runners is a self-esteem builder, which offers the children a feeling of success when they finish a race and a sense of belonging by being part of a team, and overall to get healthy.

PRACTICE:
A
ll members need to wear their Road Runner shirts every scheduled practice. Practice begins

Practices will be held on Mondays from 2:45-3:30pm. Pick up is in the gym. Please see a coach so we can check your child off on our attendance sheet to verify they have been picked up.

NMES Road Runner Practice Dates: All Practices will be on Monday’s!

Fall Practice:                                                                          Spring Practice:

September-                                                             February-

October-                                                                  March-

November-                                                                         April-

Practice: 2:45-3:30pm rain or shine. If it rains, we will do some activities in the gym, and if the sun is shining we will be running outside on the track.  The track and playground area has several benches where parents can come and help keep watch on all of the runners. We encourage parents, who can, to come to practice and exercise with their child.  Family fitness is a fun and positive activity for parents to get involved in with their child.

ATTENDANCE All students will be checked in and out at every practice. If a child misses a practice, the parent or guardian should contact Coach Boss or Coach Cantrell. Due to the limited amount of practice days we need all runners to be at practice to get the most out of the program.

PICK-UP POLICY:Students must be picked-up from practice by 3:30 pm or they will be sent to the After School Program. Please return the attached paperwork, completed, with no payment yet. This paperwork will be kept on file in the event it is needed for your child.  If your child is picked-up late more than two times, he/she will get a warning which could result in being removed from the team.

ROAD RUNNER RESPONSIBILITIES: We will be expecting all road runners to SOAR during practice
to ensure a productive, safe, fun learning environment.  SOAR means to have
Self-control, be On task,

is both a privilege and an honor.  It is important that the children maintain their daily responsibilities in
the classroom, both
academically and behaviorally. If a student has behavior problems they will be
given 2 warnings to correct before being removed from the Road Runners Program. By signing
this form, parents and students are agreeing to all policies and procedures that are explained in
